File Details

What File Format Should I Use for Digital Documents?

We recommend PDF (Portable Document Format) with a minimum 1/8” bleed and crop marks for the best print quality. Most office and design programs allow you to save or export files as a PDF. If artwork adjustments are needed, we may request the original file for editing.

What Resolution Should My Photos and Graphics Be?

For the best print quality, images and graphics should be set to 300 dpi. Web images are typically 72 dpi or 96 dpi, which can appear pixelated and blurry when printed.

Additionally, save all photos in CMYK color mode instead of RGB to ensure accurate color reproduction. If you're unable to convert your image to CMYK, let us know—we're happy to help!

How Can I Make Sure My Fonts Print Correctly?

To ensure your fonts display properly, convert them to outlined objects before sending your file. If your software doesn’t allow this, you can also package or send the font files along with your artwork.

Not sure how to do this? Give us a call, and we’ll be happy to assist!

Printing Questions & Answers

What Is a Proof and Why Does It Matter?

A proof is a sample print of your document created after all modifications and printing setup are complete. It serves as your final review opportunity to ensure your project looks exactly as intended before full production begins. Carefully inspecting the proof helps catch any errors and guarantees an accurate, high-quality final product.

Is There a Minimum Order Quantity?

No! While some printing methods may be more cost-effective for larger runs, we’re happy to work with you to find the best printing solution for your project, no matter the quantity.

Do I Need to Understand Color Separations or Halftone Printing?

Not at all! We take care of all the technical details so you can focus on your project.

However, if you're curious:

Color Separation is used in offset printing, where cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK) are printed in separate layers to create full-color images.

Halftone Printing converts solid tones into tiny dots, which blend to form smooth images when viewed from a distance.

No need to worry—we handle the entire printing process to ensure the best results for your project!

Is White Considered a Printing Color?

Not usually. Since white is the default color of most paper, it’s generally treated as the absence of ink rather than a printed color. However, if you're printing on colored or transparent materials, white ink may be used as a base layer or design element.

What Paper Types Are Available?

We offer a wide selection of in-house paper stocks to suit various printing needs. If you have a specific style in mind, we’ll check our inventory for the best match. If your preferred stock isn’t available, we can source options from our trusted paper vendors. Please note that specialty papers may require bulk purchasing from suppliers. Contact us to explore the best paper options for your project!

What Is the Pantone Matching System (PMS)?

The Pantone Matching System (PMS) is a standardized color system where each shade is assigned a unique number, ensuring precise color matching and consistency across different print materials. Using PMS helps maintain brand accuracy and guarantees that your colors stay true throughout the printing process.

Why Do Printed Colors Look Different from My Screen?

Monitors and printers use different color models, which can cause slight variations in how colors appear.

Monitors use RGB (Red, Green, Blue) – This model displays a wider range of colors using light.

Printers use CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) – This model is used in printing and can reproduce most, but not all, RGB colors.

Typically, CMYK can match 85–90% of RGB colors. If an RGB color falls outside CMYK’s printable range, the closest match is automatically selected. Adobe Photoshop and other design programs allow manual adjustments, while some applications do not.

To ensure the best results, we can provide a sample print proof before final production, so you get a “what-you-see-is-what-you-get” finished product.
